A couple of days since we launched the site, but we just sent out all the invites to the beta subscribers. Now we will hold on and keep working on all features in the pipeline.
You can now reach thousands of restaurants in 15 countries! The number of restaurants varies, since we only list restaurants which have available tables.
Please report if you have any issues with the site.

Update: We are currently experiencing some weird IE6 issues. This is only in some versions of IE6. Please report if you have any issues with the site.

Today we are proud to announce the first basic release of Tablefinders restaurant community codenamed Asparagus. (We thought version numbers were so dull. Fancy food-names are much better.)
This feature includes all of the most basic parts of an online community built on user generated content.
Users are now able to tag almost anything, write reviews, rate restaurants, add friends, communicate with friends, upload photos, find restaurants near specified location, and most importantly, get paid for making reservations.
Tablefinder connects new restaurants to the network every week where our users can enjoy a good meal and some nice wine or beer or water for that matter.
The Asparagus release will be the base of our community which we will continue to develop each day. New releases come often so don't forget to subscribe to this feed, and don't forget to sign up for an account at tablefinder.com.

When people are trying do define web2.0 and trying to understand what it means, user-generated content usually comes up.
And I agree, user-generated content is THE key factor to success. But what most people forget, is why should users enter information. When we are trying to go beyond the tech-enthusiasts we need to create reasons for users to enter information. Not everyone will edit an article on wikipedia. A lot of services created today focus on the information gathering as a service in itself. I believe this will not work in the long term. The service need to be separated from the businessmodel, services should add value for the user, provide the service for free, and then focus your business around the information entered.
Visiting Webbdagarna got me inspired to write a little piece about what I believe a lot of people are missing.
Internetworld are liveblogging at the conference and they also wrote a piece about my presentation.

As it seems, we were just placed at number 1 in a list of Swedish Top 25 Internet Entrepreneurs. It is very flattering to be at the top of such a list. Below is a link to the full Swedish article:

Just in time for Valentines day, we decided to send out a few betatester invites. These selected few can make their valentines day reservations in time, in realtime. Reservations can be placed at a few selected restaurants in the Gothenburg area. Other functions besides making reservations and sending invites, have been disabled in this release. These will be added during the next couple of weeks, so be patient, and make sure to check in once in a while either here or at tablefinder.com for updates. During the week, our partner restaurangguiden.com, will be launching their new site. There you can find information about restaurants and also make reservations using your tablefinder account.
Do you want to make money by generating reservations to the tablefinder network? Make sure you check out our Affiliate program when it comes available. If you want any more information about this or just have a suggestion, send an email to feedback at tablefinder dot com, or visit our feedback site if you have an account.
Regards,
The Development Team

Swedish leading financial website E24 wrote about venture capital around web2.0 companies. We were mentioned as an example. E24.se: Problem för webb 2.0
I don't agree at all with the writers suggestion that we might be entering a new bubble. The fact that there are an increasing number of startups entering the DeadPool is the most important sign of that we are not entering a new bubble. As Michael Arrington at Techcrunch nicely puts it in this post, shutting down companies is a good thing in a crowded market. The difference the last time was that everyone believed that all ideas could work, and no companies were shut down… until the end when they all went bankrupt. So keep investing!
